Hello and welcome to The Fertility Shelf!
I'm Bri and I will be your ferti-librarian (it's okay- you can go ahead and groan at that terrible wordplay). I have been on the TTC (trying to conceive) journey for 5 years myself. I'll tell you more about my journey later, but for now, let me just say that I have seen it all! And I'm guessing that if you have found your way here, you have seen a thing or two as well.
There is so much information thrown at you during this time, it can be very overwhelming. As a librarian, I turned to books to help me make sense of everything (when I wasn't going down the Google rabbit hole!). There are so many great ones out there, as well as other tools such as blogs and podcasts. My goal with starting this blog is to curate a collection of resources for people on the fertility journey in once space so they are easy to find. There are so many different avenues and topics covered under "fertility", and it is my hope that I can make it just a little bit easier for you to navigate.
One thing I have learned is that no one's journey is the same. What works for some women may not work for others. Also, your belief systems or ideas about how you want to proceed through this time are entirely your own. While I will try to include as many diverse resources as possible, please know that my reflections on them come from my perspective and experiences. One thing we can all agree is on is there is no easy solution or one certain way to our babies. These resources here are merely meant to help you find what works for YOU (not for your doctor, not for the internet, and definitely not for your mother in law) to make this whole process as least stressful as possible. Also, if there are any fertility books/podcast/blogs/Instagram accounts that you think I should highlight, please let me know! I am always looking for new resources and am open to any suggestions. I hope this blog leads you to some helpful tools to guide you along this difficult path. Can't wait to get started!
